Marble is a soft, calcium-based stone. Grit walked in from outside scratches it, acidic spills such as wine, citrus, coffee and everyday cleaning products etch it, and years of foot traffic leave dull grey lanes through the busiest parts of the room. No cleaning product fixes this, because the damage is in the stone itself rather than on top of it.
Our marble polishing process removes that damaged layer. We work through a sequence of modern techniques, each finer than the last, flattening out scratches and etch marks. Once the surface is uniform, it is refined with polishing powders and pads matched to your particular marble to bring up the final shine.
Because the finish comes from the stone itself and not from a coating, it will not peel, yellow or wear off in patches the way a topical polish does. The veining, depth and colour of the marble come back into view — bright and reflective in a hall, softer satin in a bathroom, or a flat honed matt where a modern look is wanted.
Everything is done with a wet, dust-extracted system, so the work is clean and quiet enough for an occupied home, and the floor can be walked on the moment we finish.
Marble asks for very little once it has been restored. Use a pH-neutral stone cleaner rather than a supermarket floor product — anything acidic or bleach-based will dull the surface again. Mats at doorways stop grit being tracked across the floor, and wiping spills quickly prevents etching before it starts.
With a penetrating sealer in place and sensible day-to-day cleaning, a polished marble floor will hold its finish for years. When the shine does eventually soften in the busiest areas, a light re-polish restores it without starting over.
