How we clean a limestone floor
Limestone is a beautiful but porous stone. Over the years, dirt, grease and moisture are walked and washed into its pores, leaving dark traffic lanes through the busiest parts of the room, blackened patches around doorways and a generally grey, tired look that no amount of mopping will shift.
Our limestone cleaning process works the contamination back out of the stone. We use pH-neutral, stone-safe cleaning solutions and controlled rotary machines to deep-clean the surface and the pores beneath it — never the acidic or harsh alkaline products that etch and permanently dull limestone.
Where the stone has been etched by acidic spills or marked by years of wear, we can re-hone and refinish the surface as an optional step after the clean, restoring an even finish before any sealing takes place.

Keeping your limestone looking its best
Limestone asks for very little once it has been properly cleaned. Use a pH-neutral stone cleaner rather than a supermarket floor product — anything acidic or bleach-based will etch and dull the surface again. Mats at doorways stop grit being tracked across the floor, and wiping spills quickly prevents staining before it starts.
